I’ve just reminded myself that the family movement and music show Echoa is going to be on our Theatre stage in May – and I can’t wait to see it again! I first saw it last year at Imaginate – the Scottish International Children’s Theatre Festival where it was the hit of the week.
I saw it on the last night with a packed house of families from all over Edinburgh having such a good time. The show is so slick with a wonderful mix of music, movement, vocal rhythms and such a lovely energy. It was great to see so many children and their grown-ups having such an uplifting time and filling The Traverse foyer after the show with such wonderful bounce.
So many of the Festival delegates were impressed with Echoa that the UK tour was pretty much created on the back of their performances at Imaginate. And we were very lucky that they could fit us in during such a busy year of international touring (they’re currently in Cyprus after performances in New Zealand, Denmark and Canada with shows in Australia and Japan once they’ve done in the UK). It’s great to think that such a show can appeal to family audiences all over the world – and I hope very much that you enjoy it as much as they are doing and as much as I did.
