To kick off the long awaited half term holiday, we got involved with The Big Draw event and hosted several workshops, where children and adults alike constructed many wonderful structures and kicked them down (inspired by the work of Aeneas Wilder that is currently on show in the Mead Gallery).
During Sunday and Monday, the Helen Martin Studio was buzzing with people creating some fantastic sculptures from thousands of wooden sticks, the participants letting their creativity shine. I must say there are a few budding architects out there, judging by some of the very well constructed and precise monuments that were built. The only problem was knocking them down. While some were very precious about what they had made, some of us were very excited about the destructive part of the workshop!
If you missed the workshops this week, or would like to get creative with the Mead Team again, then fear not! There is a fun packed day of family art, making, designing and hunting planned for Sat 10 Nov. Tickets are on sale now through the Box Office on 024 7652 4524.
