Paul Carrack, one of the most revered voices in music and a figurehead of soulful pop for decades, has announced two shows celebrating the 50th anniversary of his hit song with ACE How Long.
The shows will take audiences in Blackpool and Warwick Arts Centre on a journey through Carrack’s illustrious career, spanning half a century of extraordinary music.
Carrack’s five decades of music making is filled with iconic songs that have become timeless classics. He has lent his ‘Golden Voice’ to exceptional tracks such as 'Tempted’ by Squeeze, ‘The Living Years’ by Mike + The Mechanics, and his own solo hit ‘Don’t Shed a Tear’.
Born in Sheffield, Carrack started touring from the age of 17 and released ‘How Long’ with British rock group ACE in 1974. The track reach No 3 in the US and Canadian Charts, and was a Top 20 hit in the UK Singles Chart.
Carrack’s career has seen him sing lead vocals with Squeeze in the 80s, spend 19 years with supergroup Mike + The Mechanics, release 19 solo albums, and appear on recordings and tours as a keyboard player with stars including Elton John, Ringo Starr and Eric Clapton.
An incredibly talented songwriter, his songs have been recorded by the likes of Tom Jones, Diana Ross, The Eagles, and more.
His high-quality, accessible pop-soul music with unmissable hooks and lyrics will keep audiences entertained and make for an unforgettable night.
