Annual Review 2018 - 19
Warwick Arts Centre has been the public face of the arts at the University of Warwick for over forty years. Our diverse programme attracts audiences from across the UK. We're known for bringing entertainment from all around the world, for showcasing the best, and introducing new artists and genres.
Through its investment in Warwick Arts Centre and the new Faculty of Arts, the University of Warwick will have created a new cultural hub on campus by 2021. Together, they will be a beacon for the region.
In autumn 2018, as the first phase of our refurbishment opened, work on the second phase began. This reconfigured space will open up the Arts Centre to be a space for communities to take part in the arts.
Later in the year, plans were confirmed for the design and structure of our new development, which will house:
- Three cinemas
- An accessible, free art gallery
- A new restaurant
- A large and welcoming foyer.
In June, we demolished the bookshop, gallery and cinema, which saw our vision to make Warwick Arts Centre an outstanding visitor destination for everyone finally begin to take shape.
