Does your pet dog have what it takes to be an opera star?
Renowned opera company issues a call-out for a local pooch to appear in forthcoming production of La Bohème at Warwick Arts Centre.
Has your dog got star quality? If so, they could earn a place in the spotlight as part of the romantic opera La Bohème, which visits Warwick Arts Centre on 30 April 2025.
The touring production’s award-winning director/producer, Ellen Kent, said: “When we last did La Bohème in 2023 we asked local people to volunteer their pets - it was a huge success. We even used a rescue dog once and found him dozens of new owners!
“We’re a nation of animal lovers after all. I’m sure there is plenty of doggie talent out there.”
Would-be canine opera stars need to be well-behaved and of medium/small build, while owners (who’ll be in costume) should be prepared to accompany their pets on-stage, and look after them during the night.

ABOUT LA BOHÈME
Telling the tragic tale of the doomed seamstress Mimi and her love for a penniless writer, Rodolfo, Puccini's La Bohème is one of the most romantic operas ever written.
Traditionally staged, the Ellen Kent Production features the Ukrainian Opera and Ballet Theatre Kyiv, with international soloists, highly-praised chorus and full orchestra, while the set reflects the Bohemian art of the period and includes snow effects and an appearance from Muzetta’s dog.
