Our Cinema and Screen Producer's March Highlights

Lukas Dhont’s Close won the Cannes Grand Prix last May. The film follows Leo and Remi, two young boys and best friends who spend most of their time together. When schoolmates begin to question the nature of their relationship, Leo and Remi’s friendship is fragmented, leading to devastating consequences. Dhont delivers a tender film about friendship, loyalty, responsibility and masculine toxicity, with outstanding performances from his young cast.

To coincide with our run of Abigail’s Party in our Theatre, we are delighted to bring four films from Mike Leigh’s filmography to our cinema screens for you to (re)discover. Join us as we revisit Life Is Sweet, Career Girls, Happy-Go-Lucky, and Another Year.

Yas finds Dom sobbing in a public bathroom as he can’t seem to get over a recent break-up with his girlfriend. Over the course of 24 hours, the pair find themselves supporting each other as they attempt to find closure in their past relationships, unexpectedly finding a fresh start along the way. Rye Lane is Raine Allen Miller’s debut feature and a fun, fresh and punchy rom-com set in South London.

For the past three months, we have worked with members of the youth group Teen Vine to give them a chance to learn about film programming and marketing, and put on their own event. We are delighted to present their screening of The Addams Family and we hope you will join us for this very fun screening.

Hot from its premiere at Sundance, we are excited to bring Brandon Cronenberg’s latest horror venture, Infinity Pool to our screens. Following a couple whose entire world is flipped upside down after an accident exposes the vices of their holiday destination, Infinity Pool is absolutely not for the faint of heart. A bitter, drenched-in-gore, eat-the-rich satire, the film puts the wealthy under the microscope and ponders morality, mortality, and the consequences of a life lived without consequences.
