Paul Mescal (Aftersun) leads Ridley Scott’s sequel to Gladiator, a film event and a historical action epic.

Decades after witnessing the death of his father (Russell Crowe in Gladiator) at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Mescal) is living with his family when soldiers led by General Marcus Acacius (Pedro Pascal) force him into slavery. So Lucius must enter the Colosseum, mentored by former slave Macrinus (Denzel Washington), and – with rage in his heart and the future of the empire at stake – find the strength he needs to return the glory of Rome to its people.
