This spellbinding doc explores the sensational life of late Irish writer Edna O’Brien.
Edna O’Brien was a force to be reckoned with. A bewitching chronicler of the 20th century, with a gravitas and mystique all her own, she was effectively banished from Ireland after her sexually frank debut novel The Country Girls was published in 1960 and settled in London, where she continued to write brilliantly and prolifically for the rest of her tumultuous and colourful life. Following O’Brien’s death in 2024, Sinéad O'Shea’s stunning doc features excerpts of her personal journals read by actor Jessie Buckley.
