Sebastian Stan plays a young Donald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s terrific dramatisation of his rise in 1970s New York.

Joined by Succession’s Jeremy Strong as notorious cutthroat lawyer Roy Cohn, Abbasi’s (Border, Holy Spider) The Apprentice depicts the young Trump as a hungry second son eager to make his name in a city in the throes of a power grab. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protégé – someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.
