Dreams and desperation collide in a Manhattan restaurant kitchen.

Rooney Mara stars in Güeros director Alonso Ruizpalacios’ take on the caudron of feeling and fury that is the modern professional kitchen, shot in fine-grained black and white. Loosely derived from Arnold Wesker’s 1957 play The Kitchen, it’s set in a busy Times Square restaurant where back-of-house staff chase elusive American dreams – including newcomer Estela (Anna Díaz), savvy, ambitious Pedro (Raúl Briones) and jaded hostess Julia (Mara).
