The witty, tender and disarming story of one Irish son juggling four very different mothers.

Darren Thornton’s (A Date for Mad Mary) film won the BFI London Film Festival 2024 Audience Award. It follows Edward (James McArdle), a writer forced to balance professional commitments with caring for his elderly mother. Pressure to go on a book tour is mounting, but when his friends head off on an impromptu Pride holiday – and leave their ageing mothers in Edward’s care – he must juggle a burgeoning career with the care of four eccentric, combative, and wildly different ladies over the course of one chaotic and unforgettable weekend.
