Sean Baker’s (The Florida Project, Red Rocket) electrifying, Palme d’Or-winning tragicomedy is his best work yet.

A young Uzbek American stripper from Brooklyn, Ani (Mikey Madison) gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she marries a Russian oligarch’s son (Mark Eydelshteyn) after a dizzying romance. But their fairytale is threatened when his parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled. A romantic drama with a bleeding edge, Anora is a thrill-ride about the currencies of life – love, sex, money, and green cards – and their cross-cultural appeals.
