The first Indian film to win the Cannes Grand Prix paints a transcendent picture of love and sisterhood.

Payal Kapadia’s (A Night of Knowing Nothing) sublime second feature follows three women navigating life in Mumbai – hardworking nurse Prabha, whose husband moved abroad after their arranged marriage, her roommate Anu, involved in a clandestine relationship, and widow Parvati, who’s facing pressure to leave her home. Their stories, challenges and joys intertwine as Kapadia details the unspoken layers of yearning that weave through life in a bustling nocturnal city. Soulful and melancholic, with lush cinematography and a swooning jazz piano score, All We Imagine as Light is a magical film.
