Every Sunday between 6 October - 8 December 2024, from 1.30pm until 4.00pm.

Recommended Age:
Suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Join our family artists-in-residence Mixed Rage Collective every Sunday and spend time together as a family getting creative and having fun! 

This season to celebrate our 50th anniversary we’ll be exploring identity and activism through visual arts processes such as textiles, sculpture and print.

06/10/2024: Sevonah Golabi - Love as an act of Rebellion

Join us this Sunday for our Family Sunday’s resident art collective Mixed Rage with Artist Sevonah Golabi. 

In a world where we are often deliberately divided, make a patch about something you love about the world and your fellow human beings and attach it to one large, collaborative wall hanging. 

This artwork will be featured in our Material Worlds Making Space!

13/10/2024: Sherrie Edgar - Hand’s Up

Join us this Sunday for our Family Sunday’s resident art collective Mixed Rage with Artist Sherrie Edgar! During her Hand’s Up workshop, you are invited to decorate a glove, this can be a rubber glove, oven glove or woollen glove and explore ancient folklore and storytelling.

Make your own wearable sculpture inspired by Anna Perach ‘Glove’ to represent what this means to you. 

20/10/2024: Sina Leasuasu - me!Me!ME!

This Sunday it’s Sina’s me!Me!ME! workshop! Drop in zine making workshop responding to the theme of ‘identity’.

Working with participants to explore identity, Sina will explore the world of Zine making. There are no rules to zine making, you will play with formats and have lots of examples to draw inspiration from!

Join us this Sunday for our Family Sunday’s resident art collective Mixed Rage with Artist Niall SinghDuring ‘immediate Art!’ you will learn how to spread your message or stylise an image with this easy introduction to the discipline of print.

03/11/2024: Sevonah Golabi - Peace Placards

Artist Sevonah Golabi is back with another creative workshop! 

During her Peace Placards workshop she asks us these questions; What do you love most about the world? What do you think could threaten this? How can we stop or reverse the threat? 

Be inspired to make and decorate a placard about an issue which is important to you.

10/11/2024: Jane Thakoordin - The Power Of Me!

Get ready for Jane’s The Power Of Me! Flag Making Workshop. During this brilliant workshop, Jane Thakoordin, textile artist and banner maker will help you design and create your own unique individual flags, using upcycled materials from across the world. 

Design a flag that you can wave high and proud and that represents you, your family or community.

17/11/2024: Sevonah Golabi - Our worlds are interwoven

Sevonah joins us again for her ‘our worlds are Interwoven’ workshop, enjoy an afternoon of gentle weaving. 

Let’s get mindful together as we thread strips of upcycled saris and fabrics from around the world up and down, in and out on individual looms. 

We will also make some beautiful and colourful hangings using repurposed Indian bangles. You can add your pieces to the fence in the Making Space.

Plus it’s maths week!

We’ll also be joined by our friends in Math’s who’ll be leading a workshop based on origami and shape in our Creative Learning Space to celebrate Maths Week.

Jane Thakoordin, textile artist and banner maker invites you to design and create your own unique mini banners, using upcycled materials from across the world. Shout out your message loud and clear, using sticky letters, stencils and shapes

01/12/2024: Niall Singh - Subvert and Splice

This Sunday it’s Artist Niall Singh’s Subvert and Splice workshop! During ‘Subvert and Splice’ you will use photographs as a medium, and see how collage can give you the ability to create surreal subversions! Using only a pair of scissors and some outside of the box thinking. A punk jigsaw! 

08/12/2024: Sina Leasuasu - Badge of (Dis)honour

Sina joins us once more for a badge making workshop. During her Badge of (Dis)honour workshop, Decorate a rosette badge centred around a phrase or word you have felt doesn’t accurately represent you. Once created, we want you to wear your badge of (Dis)honour with pride!

15/12/2024: - Sherrie Edgar Tea Time Flags

During Sherrie Edgar’s Tea Time Flags workshop, you will decorate an everyday domestic object like a tea-towel, a sheet of material, or a piece of paper and make them sparkle! Inspired by Yelena Popova ‘Keep Safe’, and Larry Achiampong ‘Flags For The Relic Travellers’. You will celebrate history and create in this workshop.
